How reliable is your service?
WannaJava uses Intel-based Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers. The Linux operating system is known for its long-term stability. WannaJava is so sure of this stability that we offer a money-back 99% uptime guarantee. (Be sure to read the Account Agreement for details.) Our servers are installed in a secure data center with multiple fiber optic lines, a UPS power back-up system and a back-up generator. On top of that, all data on our servers is backed up twice: instantaneously on a mirror hard drive and nightly on a mirror server that makes up part of our automatic fail-over system. The result is a system that makes your email and Web sites available 24/7.

Also, no email spamming or unsolicited emails advertising or mentioning your WannaJava Web site are allowed. No illegal activities may be conducted using any of WannaJava's services, and no illegal content may reside on your disk space at WannaJava. Be sure to read the Account Rules for details.

Yes. WannaJava provides domain name registration as part of our hosting packages for your convenience. We encourage you to transfer your domain name registration to WannaJava, since we provide the service free of charge to our clients and you retain ownership of the name if you choose to leave us later on. Can I use Microsoft FrontPage or Publisher to design my site?
Yes. You can use FrontPage, Publisher, or any other Web design software that creates standard html pages. Just make sure you turn off FrontPage Server Extensions, ActiveX controls, VBScript, and Active Server Pages. In FrontPage you do this in Tools|Page Options...|Compatibility. These are non-standard, proprietary technologies that are not supported by WannaJava. WannaJava supports many advanced, standards-based technologies to help you build a powerful Web site, includes Java Servlets and JSP, Perl/CGI, and PHP. You may also want to try using SiteStudio to design your Web site. WannaJava provides free access to SiteStudio to all of our clients. It is an intuitive, online Web site design tool that allows you to design an entire Web site without knowing any HTML. There's nothing to download, and you can publish your work directly to your site with the click of a button. Feel free to try out the WannaJava SiteStudio Demo to get a feel for how it works.

What if I join and I don't like it?
You have a full thirty days to try out WannaJava's hosting and maintenance services. If within that time you decide you are unsatisfied, you may cancel your account simply by sending your request for cancellation to support@wannajava.net from your contact or emergency email address. You will be refunded 100% of your Web hosting and maintenance fees. Setup fees are used to purchase domain name registrations and/or SSL certifications from third-party vendors. These purchases are non-refundable. Therefore, any unused portion of your setup fee will be refunded to you, and domain name registrations and SSL certificates purchased with your setup fees are yours to take with you. After thirty days there are no refunds available under any circumstances. (Be sure to read the Account Agreement for details.)

Are there rules and restrictions I must follow?

How long does it take to get my account setup?
Once you have submitted the signup form to WannaJava and paid your initial fees, you will receive a receipt from WannaJava via email. At the same time, WannaJava's Support Team receives notification of your payment. It takes approximately one business day from that time to get your site set up and ready. Once everything is in place, the Support Team will notify you by email. Setting up an SSL certificate or Merchant Account may take several extra days, although you will be able to access your account while waiting for these third-party setups to be completed. Also, if you are using a pre-existing domain name and have chosen not to transfer registration to WannaJava, you will need to contact your domain name registration company to change your name server information. Your welcoming email will contain instructions on how to do this. Once you have requested the necessary changes, it may take several days to a week for the change to trickle through the Internet.

What kind of SSL Certificates does WannaJava offer?
WannaJava offers third-party-verified SSL certificates from Comodo, accepted automatically by over 99.3% of current Internet users's browsers. We offer two levels of SSL certification: non-commercial and commercial. Both offer the same state-of-the-art encryption and security technology. The difference lies in the warranty that backs the certificate. A non-commercial SSL certificate has a maximum transaction value of $1000 and a payment limit of $10,000. A commercial SSL certificate has a maximum transaction value of $10,000 and a payment limit of $100,000. When you sign up for an e-commerce account with WannaJava, part of your setup fee goes towards purchasing you an SSL certificate for your new site. After that initial setup fee, WannaJava renews your SSL certificate yearly at no extra charge to you as long as you remain a client of WannaJava.

What is PayPal integration?
For those merchants just starting out, a PayPal account is one of the most affordable payment solutions available. There are no monthly fees. You simply pay a percentage of the sale and per-transaction fee. For one-time sales, PayPal no longer requires your customers to become PayPal members, and PayPal comes with an easy-to-use shopping cart system. This is where the 'PayPal integration' comes in. On your site, you simply provide an 'Add to Cart' button for each item you wish to sell, along with some code that PayPal provides for you. When your customer clicks the button, PayPal's shopping cart opens in a separate window and shows your customer what items are in the cart. They then have the option of continuing to shop or checking out. PayPal handles all the payment details and notifies you by email of the completed transaction. WannaJava's SiteStudio Web design software provides a product catalog with 'Add to Cart' buttons. When you set up the product page, you can simply cut and paste PayPal's code into the code box, and the button will be programmed to activate PayPal's shopping cart. Feel free to try out the WannaJava SiteStudio Demo to get a feel for how it works.

What kind of Merchant Accounts does WannaJava offer?
WannaJava has partnered with PayQuake to bring you professional-quality merchant services at a very reasonable price. These are true merchant accounts, where your customers stay at your site throughout the entire checkout process, giving your e-commerce Web site a much more professional feel. WannaJava offers free integration of our PayQuake merchant accounts with any of our shopping cart software.

WannaJava offers two maintenance plans specially taylored for e-commerce accounts - Product Maintenance and E-Complete Maintenance. With both plans, WannaJava assigns you an individual support specialist with whom you can communicate directly, allowing you to build a partnership with a professional who knows your site and understands your needs. Product Maintenance allows you to simply email a photo and description of a new product to your support specialist to have it added to your online catalog. E-Complete Maintenance combines the ease of Product Maintenance with the peace-of-mind of our Complete Account and Content Maintenance Plan. You run your online store and let us worry about running your Web site. Check out our maintenance plan comparison chart for details.

What kind of design services does WannaJava offer?
WannaJava provides you with all the tools and expertise you need to create a successful Web presence. It is an intuitive, online Web site design tool that allows you to design an entire Web site without knowing any HTML. There's nothing to download, and you can publish your work directly to your site with the click of a button. Feel free to try out the WannaJava SiteStudio Demo to get a feel for how it works. What is data maintenance?
All WannaJava accounts come with free data maintenance, which is at the core of all our more advanced maintenance plans. You get automatically rotating logs so that you never have to worry about your Web access logs overrunning your disk space. You get instantaneous backup of every change you make to your site as well as all your logs and current emails via mirrored hard drives set up in a RAID 1 configuration. And you get nightly backups of your site to a mirror server that is ready to kick on at a moment's notice if the server your account is hosted on becomes unreachable for any reason. Together, these measures provide you with the highest quality data integrity and availability on the market today.

Why would I want to pay for additional maintenance services?
WannaJava's data maintenance plan relieves you of the day-to-day tasks of backing up your Web site and managing your logs. However, there's a whole lot more to managing a Web presence. If your time, or that of your employees, is better spent concentrating on your business, you may want to sign up for additional maintenance services. For instance, if you need to make regular changes to your account, such as changing email accounts or adding and deleting subdomains, an account management plan will allow you to simply email your request to your support specialist and it's done. If you need to make regular changes to your Web site, such as updating your home page with recent news accounts, a content management plan will allow you to email your support specialist and have the changes made for you. When you sign up for advanced maintenance services such as these, WannaJava assigns you an individual support specialist with whom you can communicate directly, allowing you to build a partnership with a professional who knows your site and understands your needs, all for much less than it would cost to hire someone to perform these maintenance tasks for you elsewhere. Check out our maintenance plan comparison chart for details.
