In 1999, WannaJava established its Web presence as a simple tutorial site to help beginning programmers learn the Java programming language. Finding it difficult ourselves to locate a Java-enabled Web hosting company that was affordable and flexible, we decided to invest in the hardware and software necessary to host ourselves. By 2001 we had decided to offer our Java-enabled Web hosting services to others, and WannaJava became a Washington State company.

Today, WannaJava provides Web presence services to a wide variety of companies, organizations, and individuals all across the United States. Our Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers are securely housed in a multi-homed data center with fiber-optic connections to the main Internet backbone. Our clients' email access and Web sites are protected from power outages with an on-site diesel generator and backed up both in a Raid array and on a mirror server which makes up part of our automatic fail-over system. All of this assures our clients that their Web presence is entrusted to one of the most stable systems available on the Web. WannaJava has a vested interest in providing this near-100% up-time: we host our sites right along side our clients'.
